When a wisdom tooth doesn’t have room to come through, it can stay partly or fully buried and cause pain, repeated gum infections or damage to the tooth next to it. We take an X-ray first, then remove it under full local anesthetic — whether it’s a simple extraction or surgery for an impacted tooth.

How it works

We check the position of the tooth, its roots and how close it sits to the nerve in the jaw.

We only start once the area is completely numb.

A simple extraction for an erupted tooth; for an impacted tooth, a short surgery with a few stitches.

Written aftercare instructions, any medication you need and, if required, a follow-up to remove stitches.
Coming from abroad?
Most people are back to normal activities within a day or two, but plan a few quiet days after surgery and avoid flying on the same day if you can. If stitches need removing, we’ll schedule that about a week later — tell us your travel dates on WhatsApp and we’ll plan around them.
Common questions
Does every wisdom tooth need to come out?
No. A wisdom tooth that has fully come through, sits in the right place, can be cleaned properly and isn’t causing problems may not need removing. We decide after an exam and X-ray.
Does wisdom tooth surgery hurt?
It’s done under full local anesthetic, so you feel pressure but no pain. Soreness and swelling over the first few days are managed with prescribed painkillers and cold compresses.
How long is recovery?
Swelling usually peaks on day two or three and then settles. Most people are back to their normal routine within a day or two; avoid heavy exercise for the first few days.
What should I do after surgery?
Bite on the gauze for an hour, use a cold compress on the first day, eat soft cool food, and avoid smoking, straws and vigorous rinsing. From the next day, gentle warm salt-water rinses help.
When should I contact the clinic?
If pain gets worse after day three instead of better, you notice a bad taste or smell, you develop a fever, or bleeding doesn’t stop with pressure.
